August 18, 2020 – This week, King’s College welcomes its student body back to campus for the fall semester, as resident students begin the process of moving into their residence halls. Classes will begin on Monday, August 24, 2020. The College has made extensive efforts to establish new operational practices on campus to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 including enhanced cleaning protocols, physical classroom modifications, providing personal protective equipment for employees, increased sanitizing stations across campus, establishing directional travel in campus buildings, enhanced health monitoring and reporting systems, and the establishment of quarantine spaces. In addition, the College recently announced the prohibition of all smoking and vaping on any College properties.
August 10, 2020 – On Thursday, August 13, 2020, King’s College President Rev. John Ryan, C.S.C., Ph.D. will confer Alumni Awards upon six distinguished alumni who have demonstrated remarkable contributions to their professional fields, to the communities in which they live, and to King’s College. Members of the faculty, staff, administration, and alumni assisted the president in the selection process from among nominees submitted by alumni and friends of the College. Alumni Awards are typically presented annually during the College’s Commencement Weekend. Due to the global pandemic, both the King’s 2020 Commencement Ceremony and the 2020 Alumni Awards ceremony will be held in a virtual environment.
June 23, 2020 - Valerie Kepner, Ph.D., has been appointed Director of Women’s Studies at King’s College. The Women’s Studies Program provides students an opportunity to earn a minor through courses in several fields and also to apply classroom learning through participation in co-curricular activities and programs.
June 18, 2020 - Diane DellaValle, Ph. D., RDN, LDN, has been appointed as an associate professor of nutrition science at King’s College. The College recently announced an on-line master’s degree in nutrition science will begin in August.
June 17, 2020 - The King’s College Health Science Programs unveiled a banner honoring workers in the healthcare fields for their tireless dedication during the Covid-19 pandemic. The banner, located in front of the Richard Abbas Alley Center for Health Sciences, is designed to draw a connection between the education King’s students receive in the Health Sciences and the professionals that serve and will serve in the critically important fields.
