First-year resident students move into their resident halls.

First-year commuter students may pick up their packets of Orientation information and meet fellow commuters.
11:00 - 12:30 LUNCH (two locations) King's Court, 2nd Floor Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center and Regina Court, Lower Level, Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center
Lunch will be provided free of charge to first-year students and their families.
12:45 - 1:00 *NEW STUDENT PROCESSION, O'Connor Park, near the Leo the Lion Statue
(rain location - Auxiliary Gymnasium)
Students will join their HCE Group (find the letter on the back of your name tag). Students will then process to the President's Welcome to join their family and friends.
1:15 - 2:00 *PRESIDENT'S WELCOME, Scandlon Physical Education Center
Join students, faculty, and staff for a celebration of new experiences, new friendships, and new beginnings.
2:15 - 2:45 *HCE 101 (Holy Cross Experience) Group Meeting
Find the letter of your HCE group on the back of your name tag. Meet with your HCE 101 class and make some new friends! Your group leaders will be your guides throughout the program. They will help familiarize you with the campus, its resources, and its activities.
2:15 - 3:00 FAMILY AND FRIENDS Q & A PANEL

All family and friends of new students are invited to ask questions of King's administrators and faculty.

This is an opportunity to socialize with fellow commuters. Get answers to your questions regarding commuting to King's. Light refreshments will be served.

Sit back and laugh as the King's Players present an evening of improv comedy. Audience participation is encouraged and helps to keep the show entertaining!  
7:45 CANDLELIGHT TAIZE PRAYER, Monarch Court, followed by a procession to the Chapel of Christ the King at the George and Giovita Maffei Family Commons (rain location - Chapel)
Taize Prayer is a meditative style of communal prayer. Simple refrains are sung using just a few words that create a gentle rhythm. Scripture is proclaimed along with time for silent meditation.
8:30 - 10:00 HYPNOTIST JON WAYES, O'Connor Park (rain location Scandlon Physical Education Center)
From full audience hypnosis to students controlling the show via social media, Jon's New-Age approach to comedy hypnosis is unparalleled. In the audience or on stage, all students have the opportunity to take part in this full-scale production. Hang out after the show and enjoy FREE pizza from Dominos!

During this program we will tackle the different components of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in a fun and engaging way with the Multicultural Director, Mrs Jasmine Giddings. Come participate in our meaningful conversations, competitive fun, and find out how King's values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

*Wellness, Administration Building, George P. Maffei Theatre
Wellness is about achieving optimal vitality and not just avoiding sickness. This presentation will touch on some of the following pillars of wellness: physical, nutritional, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, financial, and environmental.

*CitySERVE, Monarch Court
HCE sections will go on an interactive walking tour to learn about volunteer opportunities and nonprofits in the neighborhood surrounding King's. Put on your CitySERVE t-shirt and walking shoes and meet new classmates while exploring ways to be an impactful part of a caring community. *Any students with mobility issues can contact their HCE co-leader for assistance or other ways to participate.

You've heard the saying "It's not what you know, it's who you know." Beginning the process of networking and building relationships to expand your circle of connections and increasing your opportunities. As you think about your relationship with King's and its people, recognize that it's not just about four years. It's about the rest of your life.

HCE 101 is a one-credit course for all new students at King's. All new students are enrolled in the course during the first semester. The instructor and student coleader will review the course content and requirements prior to your first class meeting.

ZERO SHADES OF GRAY sets the tone that sexual assault is black and white. There are no disclaimers, no clauses, and no fine print when it comes to how people feel about being sexually assaulted or raped. It's serious to the victim, and this seminar helps students understand that this isn't a victim problem, it's a problem on all levels.

"BREATHE NOLAN BREATHE"
A documentary born from tragedy, but which inspired a national safety campaign. This film's mission is to open an honest dialogue and educate young adults to ensure preventable situations like this never happen again.
