First Generation Monarchs Celebration Mixer

On November 3, 2021, the campus community kicked off the Celebration with a Mixer from 3:30PM to 5PM located in the King's College Campus Center, Snyder Room.

  • 5 Students won a $100 gift certificate to the Campus Bookstore
  • 1 Student won a DELL Inspiron 14 3000 - 14 in. display laptop-Bring a friend: students who bring a student with them will receive an extra entry to win the DELL laptop
  • 1 Student won an amazing painting by our very own Ms. Mary Wood
  • Many more students won an array of prizes, including gift certificates. Students come by, create your own face mask, grab a goodie bag, and gain insight about First-Generation Monarchs and other important campus resources

You'll also have a chance to let us know if you're a first-generation student (a student whose parents or legal guardians do not have a four-year college degree).

All events are open to the entire campus community-everyone is encouraged to join the celebration. The celebration flyer is available as a PDF download here.

The fun continues Thursday, November 4th on Zoom

Four resilient first-generation faculty will share their experience on how they went from student to professional on our "First to Finish Faculty Panel" from 12:30PM to 1:30PM

At 4PM, four dynamic students will discuss what it's like being first-generation at King's College on our "First-Generation Voices Student Panel."
