April 2, 2019 - The King’s College Theatre Department will present one of William Shakespeare’s most enduring comedies, “Much Ado About Nothing” at 7:30 p.m. April 11-13 and at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in the George P. Maffei II Theater.
Directed by Dave Reynolds, associate professor of theatre, “Much Ado About Nothing,” is a timeless tale of love, revenge, and hijinks.
Set in the idyllic Italian town of Messina, the play begins with Leonato preparing to open his home to his friends who have just returned from war, Don Pedro, Claudio and Benedick. The house is one of stability and happiness for those already living there, Leonato’s daughter Hero; his niece, Beatrice; and Beatrice’s aging father, Antonio, but all that quickly changes when Don Pedro and his friends arrive.
The George P. Maffei II Theater is located in the Administration Building on North River Street. Tickets are $12 for general admissions, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for King’s alumni and non-King’s students, and free for King’s students. For more information on the upcoming performance or to reserve tickets, call the box office at (570) 208-5825 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
