Students with a balance on the term’s start date will have a Business Office Hold placed on their account. This hold will remain in place until the balance has been paid in full.
There are different types of business holds:
Business Office – (BO) – indicates a balance for students who are no longer enrolled.
Business Office – Level 1 (BO1) – indicates an outstanding balance that will prevent a student from accessing grades and from registering courses for their next semester. The balance must be paid in full to register.
Business Office – Level 2 (BO2) – indicates an outstanding balance that will not prevent a student from accessing grades or from registering courses for their next semester; however, if the balance is not resolved, the student may be de-registered. This means that all classes they are registered for in the upcoming semester will be dropped/removed from their schedule.
Business Office – Graduate (BOG) – indicates that unresolved balances may prevent the release of diplomas, access to official transcripts, and participation in certain graduation-related activities.
Students will receive an auto-generated email from our CRM Advise system. The email notification will be sent directly from the Business Office (terrilewis@kings.edu) and will contain instructions for students to contact or meet with Terri Lewis, Director of Student Account Services, to resolve the hold. In addition to the email, letters will be mailed to the student’s address on file.
Once resolved and the Business Office removes the hold from the student’s account, the Business Office Hold Alert will automatically close in CRM Advise.
Once a student is no longer enrolled, any outstanding account balance is considered delinquent. All delinquent accounts are subject to possible placement with external collection agencies.
