Wilkes-Barre, Pa., June 22, 2022—In the end of the Spring 2022 semester, 63 King’s College students presented scientific conference-style senior capstone research posters at the thirteenth annual Science Symposium held in the William S. Scandlon Gymnasium.
The symposium was started in 2009 by the biology department to showcase senior research capstone projects. In 2017, it expanded to the chemistry and physics departments and now includes psychology, neuroscience, biochemistry and molecular biology, and environmental science.
As part of their major requirements, students within these science disciplines must take a capstone course, which consists of reading and evaluating scientific literature, creating a research poster, and orally presenting findings during the symposium.
