The King’s College Theatre Department has announced its 2026-27 Mainstage Season, featuring a diverse lineup of classic and contemporary plays, musical theatre, student performances and special events.

Mainstage productions will be presented in the George P. Maffei II Theatre, located in the Mulligan Physical Science Center on the King’s College campus.

The fall season opens with the return of “Who Am I? Reflections of a Journey,” Sept. 9-11. The performance showcase gives student performers an opportunity to explore personal feelings and life experiences through self-curated pieces incorporating song, speech, dance and other forms of creative expression.

All My Sons by Arthur Miller, Oct. 1-4, will be presented in association with Gaslight Theatre Company. The drama follows a successful factory owner forced to confront the devastating truth and moral consequences of his decision to knowingly ship defective airplane parts during World War II, resulting in the deaths of several pilots.

The fall season continues with William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, Nov. 12-15 and 19-20. The classic comedy follows the headstrong and sharp-tongued Katherine and the fortune-seeking Petruchio as they match wits in a battle of wills, expectations and, perhaps, love.

The spring season begins with Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!, Feb. 18-21. Based on the popular children’s book by Mo Willems, the interactive family musical follows a mischievous pigeon determined to fulfill his dream of driving a city bus after an unexpected emergency. The production features a book and lyrics by Willems and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma.

King’s College Theatre will then host its inaugural Battle of the Bands, March 11-13, featuring local bands competing during a three-night event.

Constellations by Nick Payne, March 23-25, explores the relationship between a quantum physicist and a beekeeper through a series of encounters that unfold across multiple possible realities, examining how even the smallest choices can alter the course of a relationship.

The Mainstage season concludes with Eugene O’Neill’s The Hairy Ape, April 15-18. The expressionist drama follows Yank, a confident coal stoker whose sense of identity is shattered following an encounter with a wealthy young woman, sending him on a tragic search for belonging in an increasingly industrialized world.

In addition to its Mainstage Season, King’s College Theatre will present several special events and student productions throughout the academic year. The Student Second Stage season includes the Student Lab Series, Jan. 7-9, and Student Short Play Festival, April 29-May 2. Additional programming includes the third annual Unity Black History Month Showcase in February and performances by Causing a Scene Improv.

Additional information and updates about performances and special events will be shared through King’s College Theatre’s social media channels.

Performances will be held in the George P. Maffei II Theatre in the Mulligan Physical Science Center, 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Tickets range from $8 to $20 and are free for current King’s College students with a valid student ID.

Tickets will be available through the King’s College Theatre online box office. Reservations may also be made by emailing boxoffice@kings.edu or calling 570-208-5828. Tickets will also be available at the theatre box office on the day of each performance.
