The King’s College Theatre Department will continue its 2025–26 Mainstage Season with Proof, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning drama by David Auburn.
Directed by Theatre Department Chair Dave Reynolds, the production will run March 26–28 at 7:30 p.m. and March 28–29 at 2 p.m. The George P. Maffei II Theatre is located inside the Mulligan Physical Science Center at 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre.
Set on the back porch of a Chicago home, Proof follows Catherine, the daughter of a once-renowned mathematician whose groundbreaking mind was consumed by mental illness. In the days following his death, Catherine must navigate grief, an estranged sister, and the attention of a former student searching through her father’s notebooks. When a mysterious mathematical proof emerges, Catherine must confront the question that haunts everyone around her: Did she inherit her father’s brilliance, his instability—or both?
Blending sharp humor with emotional depth, Auburn’s acclaimed play explores family, legacy, trust and the fragile line between genius and madness.
Tickets are $8–$20 and are free for current King’s College students with ID. Tickets are available online at https://www.onthestage.tickets/kings-college-theatre.
