King’s Theatre Brings a Play You Can Sink Your Fangs into with “Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really”

Production Banner
The King’s College Theatre Department will continue its 2025–26 Mainstage Season with Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really by Kate Hamill. Directed by adjunct professor Elizabeth Powers, the production will run Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.; and Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. in the George P. Maffei II Theatre.

The play reimagines Bram Stoker’s classic through a feminist lens, asking what happens when women defy societal norms and embrace their strength to survive. In Hamill’s adaptation, femininity is a force that works in tandem with male counterparts to confront both the literal evil of Dracula and the broader systems of oppression he represents.

Terrifying and funny in equal measure, Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really explores the nature of predators while turning the familiar vampire story into a sharp, unsettling commentary on power, gender, and survival.
Performances will be held in the George P. Maffei II Theatre, located in the Mulligan Physical Science Center at 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Tickets are $8–$20 and free for current King’s College students with ID. They are available at https://www.onthestage.tickets/kings-college-theatre.
