Author, Poet, and King’s Alumna to Give Free Public Reading of New Book on Sept. 18

Writer and poet Abigail E. Myers ’04, will visit King’s College for a free public reading, question and answer session, and book signing on Sept.18, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Burke Auditorium.

The event is free and open to the public. The Burke Auditorium is located on the first floor of the McGowan School of Business. Visitors can park in lots off the circle accessed from N. Franklin St.

Myers grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania—where many of her works are set—and studied English at King's College before moving to New York. After 15 years as an educator in the city, she moved to Long Island, where she now writes fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

Her short story “Black Balloon” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her other nominations include two consecutive nominations to Best Small Fictions as well as Best of the Net and Best Spiritual Literature.

Myers heads back to King’s College to showcase “The Last Analog Teenagers,” her debut short fiction collection featuring “Black Balloon” along with eight other stories of young people from the last days of answering machines, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), and microfilm.
