With FAFSA Delays, King’s College Extends Commitment Deadline to June 1, 2024

The Department of Education announced this week another delay in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used to issue federal, state, and institutional financial aid to admitted students. The latest delay postpones the release of financial data to institutions until early March. While not ideal, the Department is using this time to fix a critical formulation error that will, when corrected, allow families to qualify for more aid.

Once received, King’s College will analyze financial data from the Department of Education then assemble and mail Financial Aid Offers to admitted students by early to mid-April provided there are no additional delays.

Given this development and shortened timeframe for reviewing offers, King’s College will also extend the Enrollment and Deposit Deadline to June 1, 2024.

Providing a high-quality education within financial reach is key to the King’s College mission. This is made possible through the FAFSA and generous scholarship packages. However, these delays create additional anxiety around the decision of where a student can pursue their education. Representatives from the College’s Office of Admission and Office of Financial Aid are ready and available to answer questions and work with families to ensure they can make an informed decision about enrolling.
