What Can You Do with an Elementary Education Degree?

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education opens the door to several rewarding career paths. For many students, it’s the first step toward landing their dream teaching job. With a major in education, you can become an elementary PK–4 teacher, working with children ages 3 through 8 in public schools, private schools, or childcare centers.

Elementary teachers help students build foundational skills, lead group and individual activities, and encourage children to explore their interests and the world around them. At this stage, it’s also essential for teachers to recognize any developmental concerns and communicate them to parents. While preschool teachers emphasize play-based learning, kindergarten through fourth grade tends to follow more traditional teaching methods and academic curriculum.
