Things That Go Boom in the Night

King’s College invites local families and their children to the annual “Things that Go Boom in the Night” Halloween event on Oct. 27, 2026, from 6 pm to 8 pm, for an evening of free, fun, interactive science activities.

The demonstrations are organized and run by faculty and students with the College’s Department of Chemistry and Physics.

Children will get to make chromatography ghosts, ‘alien eyeballs,’ exploding eggs, colorful flames, and oozing Jack-O-Lanterns

The event will be held on the third floor of the Sheehy-Farmer Student Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. and close at 8 p.m. No registration is required, and guests are welcome to come at any time during that period, since the demonstrations will occur periodically throughout the evening. All attendees are encouraged to wear costumes.

King’s College is located at 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18711. The Student Center is located in the center of campus and can be found on this map. Event parking is available on nearby streets and in the Holy Cross Hall lot accessed via the cul-de-sac on N. Franklin Street.
