Dr. Sean Blinn has taught in both undergraduate and graduate criminal justice programs at various academic institutions since 2011. He is deeply passionate about building strong relationships with students and mentoring them toward professional success. His focus is on improving the United States criminal justice system through research, collaboration, and practical approaches aimed at reducing system errors.
As a retired Pennsylvania Army National Guard Officer with over twenty years of military experience, his expertise spans foreign relations, military course instruction, detention facility operations, agricultural customs inspections, linguist management, leadership development, anti-terrorism planning, force protection, and military police operations. Dr. Blinn has also served on several military deployments such as Operation Desert Fox (1998 - 293rd, Military Police Company), Operation Brightstar (2000 - 293rd, Military Police Company), Kosovo Campaign (2003-2004, 28th Military Police Company), Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007-2008, 28th Military Police Company), and Operation Enduring Freedom - Kuwait (2012-2013, 1-109th Infantry Batallion). He has also worked in various federal law enforcement organizations, such as the U.S. Marshals Service as an Investigative Research Specialist and the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a corrections officer.
He resides in Forty Fort, Pa., with his wife, Kristy, and their son, Hayden.
