Lisa Zimmerman, M.P.A.S., PA-C, received a bachelor's degree in biology with minor in chemistry from Misericordia University in 2005 and a master's degree in physician assistant studies from Marywood University in 2007. She is currently Ph.D. student at Marywood University with research interest in the use of non-cognitive attributes to predict PA student success in clinical rotations. Lisa practiced full-time in gastroenterology for 12 years with a focus on management of viral hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, and part-time for an additional year, providing GI care via telemedicine. She remains active in the GI and hepatology community and has served as a speaker for virtual peer learning modules and a GI journal club.
Lisa joined the King’s College PA faculty in 2022 as a clinical coordinator and assistant clinical professor. She teaches the gastroenterology module to didactic students, advises and mentors clinical students, recruits and maintains relationships with clinical rotation sites, and assists in clinical curriculum review. Lisa developed curricula for and teaches pre-PA students critical thinking skills to promote scientific reasoning in conjunction with personal resiliency. She also co-leads clinical PA students on a yearly medical mission trip to the Canto Grande district of Lima, Peru. Outside her professional life, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband Earl, sons Noah and Alex, their dog Willow, and cat Izzy.
