  • Student Health services will be available for the Fall 2020 semester hours between the hours of M-F 8:30–4:30 p.m. by appointment only. No walk-ins will be accepted.
  • Staff includes a full-time RN, part-time Medical Assistant, full-time Physician Assistant/Director of Student Health Services, part-time Physician, and per diem physician assistant.
    • All students must call the Student Health Center at 570-208-5852 or email at studenthealth@kings.edu to ask any health-related question, make an appointment or schedule a test such as TB test or allergy injection.
    • Phone Triage for COVID symptoms, travel, and exposure screen will occur for each phone call.
    • Students will be counseled via phone or scheduled for a telehealth visit or face-to-face visit, depending on the chief complaint.
    • Stable COVID suspicious patients will be scheduled at the end of the day and instructed to enter through a side entrance. They will remain segregated from the main waiting area and other patients.  Only one health care provider will care for the patient donning proper PPE in a designated room to avoid exposure to others.
    • Doxy.me or Zoom will be utilized for telehealth sessions. 
    • Students will be advised to call/contact their RA and RC for after-hour guidance. Referral to Local urgicenters or ER will be advised depending on the student’s needs. Trans Med and 911 are options for urgent and emergent transport of patients.
    • Phone and telehealth video visits will be utilized to follow-up with patients as needed. 
  • Capacity
    • We will have no more than four students in the Student Health Center at a time; one in each exam room and 2 in the designated waiting area/s at least six feet apart. The waiting room will be arranged appropriately, and signage placed to guide adequate physical distancing.
    • Appointment times will be staggered to avoid excess patients in the waiting room.
    • The health center entrances are secure and require staff permission to access the building.
  • Disinfecting and Cleaning
    • All Staff and students will wear a mask before entering the Student Health Center
    • Additional PPE, such as gowns, N95 masks, and gloves, will be utilized in the exam rooms dependent on the patient presentation.
    • Staff working alone in their own office or workspace may remove their mask temporarily.
    • Each exam room will be thoroughly wiped down after each patient. Doorknobs and high touch areas throughout the health center will be periodically cleaned in between patient visits.
    • UV light disinfectant in the exam room will be utilized after seeing a patient who presents with a respiratory complaint or a respiratory specimen is procured for testing.
