June 5, 2014 - King’s College has established an annual award for achievement and leadership in the name of Father James Lackenmier, C.S.C., seventh president of the College.

The Reverend James Lackenmier, C.S.C., Award for Achievement and Leadership will be presented yearly in conjunction with the McGowan School of Business Forum.  A highlight of Father Lackenmier’s 18-year presidency (1981-1999) was the establishment of the William G. McGowan School of Business at King’s in 1992.

The National French Contest, sponsored by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), produced 53 chapter and 15 national winners from a pool of more than 400 elementary through high school student entrants from public and private schools in the Wyoming Valley, Milford, Scranton, Pocono, and South Williamsport areas.

Staff members of WRKC (88.5 FM), the student-run radio station of King’s College, recently won several national broadcasting awards in the prestigious Society for Professional Journalists (SPJ) Mark of Excellence and Intercollegiate Broadcast System (IBS) awards.

June 2, 2014 - Eleven teachers from local school districts were among 19 people who recently completed the Master’s Thesis class at King’s College.  The Master’s Thesis class in the culminating project in the Curriculum and Instruction and the Reading graduate programs at King’s.  Upon successful completion of the class, students receive either a Master of Education degree or a Reading Certificate Certification.

May 29, 2014 - King’s College has been placed on national lists from “Forbes” magazine and Affordable Colleges Online in recognition of  its overall excellence and for providing students excellent return on their tuition investment.
