November 21, 2018 - King’s students Allison Butrie, Ali Feathers, Abigail Gibbs, Courtneyanne Randall, and Ashley Strazdus have been awarded Peyton Walker Foundation Scholarships, a scholarship that was created in memory of a former King’s physician assistant major to aid students in that discipline.

Peyton Walker was a physician assistant major at King’s when she died unexpectedly in November 2013 from sudden cardiac arrest. The Peyton Walker Foundation was created to raise awareness and survival rates for people who experience sudden cardiac arrest.

Selection for the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.   Butrie is in her fifth and final year of the physician assistant master’s degree program and was awarded $2,000.  Feathers, Gibbs, Randall, and Strazdus are in their fourth year of the five-year program.  Gibbs and Randall received $3,000 each and Feathers and Strazdus both received $2,000.  This is the fifth year the scholarships have been awarded.
