October 8, 2019 - St. Bernardine’s Gospel Choir of Baltimore will perform a free concert of traditional gospel songs and contemporary religious compositions at King’s College at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 26, and during the 10:30 a.m. liturgy on Sunday, Oct. 27, in the Chapel of Christ the King at the George & Giovita Maffei Family Commons located at 29 W. North Street in Wilkes-Barre.

The performances are sponsored by King’s Campus Ministry.

The approximate 30-voice choir has performed throughout the Baltimore area, in Rome for the late Pope John Paul II, and was featured on a Palm Sunday service broadcast on NBC.

The gospel choir’s annual visit to campus began during the college’s 50th anniversary in 1996. The initiative was created by the late Monsignor Edward Miller, the longtime pastor of St. Bernardine’s Roman Catholic Church and brother of Brother James Miller, C.S.C., former director of the King’s College Theater Department.
