Kyle McKiernan, Marketing, Class of 2020, was in Dr. JC Blewitt’s FYE (now HCE) class when he arrived on campus in the fall of 2016. Now more than five years from that class and a year and a half after Kyle’s graduation, the two are now co-authors in an academic journal.
Dr. Justin Beaupre, Assistant Professor of Health Care Administration, recently earned a graduate certificate in Epidemiology for Public Health Professionals from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at John Hopkins University. The intensive 24-credit certificate program provides individuals with specialized knowledge and skills to apply epidemiologic concepts and methods to public health problems.
Congratulations to Dr. Amy Parsons, Marketing professor in the William G. McGowan School of Business. Her article, “Social Media Marketing Management: An Application to Small Restaurants in the US”, was selected as an Outstanding Paper in the 2020 Emerald Literati Awards and published in the International Journal of Culture, Tourism, and Hospitality Research. The editorial team said that it is one of the most exceptional pieces of work they saw throughout 2019. Dr.
Desiree Scott, a student at King’s College and the William G. McGowan School of Business, was awarded the Young Professional Intern of the Year Award presented by the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce at their 5th annual Young Professionals Awards night. The outdoor ceremony was held on Wednesday, September 23, at the Garden Drive In, Hunlock Creek.

This is the highest level of recognition a chapter can earn in BGS' Chapter Honor Roll program, and it commends the William G. McGowan School of Business's commitment to academic excellence, leadership and student success. BGS members are students in the top 10% of undergraduate students in the William G. McGowan School of Business.
Marc Marchese, Ph.D., professor of Human Resources Management, was the recipient of the 2020 Rev. Donald J. Grimes, C.S.C. Annual Award for Service-Learning Teaching Excellence.
The William G. McGowan School of Business congratulates Jessica Hildebrand, CPA-Instructor of Accounting on being named a 2020 PICPA Young Leader by The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). The Young Leader Awards annually recognize an elite group of members of the PICPA under the age of 40 who demonstrate a commitment to the accounting profession through active PICPA or community volunteer activities. Ms. Hildebrand is a member of PICPA Council, as well as the Northeastern Chapter’s Executive and Schools and Colleges committees.
