August 2, 2017 - For the 10th consecutive year, King’s College has been placed on an exclusive list of “Best American Colleges” published by “Forbes” magazine. The list is based on multiple factors related to success after graduation, debt, student satisfaction, graduation rate, and academic success.

King’s placed 580 of 650 institutions in the annual rankings. Less than 15 percent of the nearly 4,400 colleges and universities nationwide are included in “Forbes” annual ranking. King’s is the only Luzerne County college or university included in the list and one of only two institutions (University of Scranton) in northeastern Pennsylvania. Both have been named to the list every year of its existence.

According to the magazine, “Favoring output over input, we eschew common metrics like acceptance rate, endowment and freshmen SAT scores – numbers that say far more about a school’s “prestige” than its actual effectiveness – and instead favor variables like alumni salary, graduation rate and student satisfaction.”

King’s also was included in “Money” magazine’s “Best Colleges” ranking and was included among the “Best Northeastern Colleges” by “Princeton Review.”
