Wilkes-Barre, Pa., December 12, 2022—Shannon Drevitch, Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) student in the King’s College AACSB-Accredited William G. McGowan School of Business, has been named the 2023-24 David Joseph Hospital Operations Administrative Fellow at Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN).

LVHN is an Allentown, Pa., based not-for-profit healthcare system comprised of 13 hospital campuses and numerous health centers, physician practices, rehabilitation locations, urgent care sites, and other outpatient care locations across ten Eastern Pennsylvania counties.

“As the first person from King’s College chosen for an Administrative Fellowship, I am honored to take on this role and represent the College and community,” Drevitch, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., said. “I am excited to be provided the opportunity to experience the real-world application of the knowledge and skills I learned during my coursework at King’s.”

Fellowships are one of the most coveted opportunities among recent MHA graduates and obtaining one is extremely competitive.

“My education and experiences from King's College provided me with the confidence to take on challenges, like an administrative fellowship, because I was prepared to succeed,” she noted. “Having vied for this position among applicants from all over the United States, I believe my time at King's College set me apart from other candidates and allowed me to earn the position.”

During the fellowship, which begins this July, Drevitch will work closely with executive leaders on planned rotations providing her exposure and project work across hospital campuses and throughout LVHN. Drevitch will also participate in an immersive leadership experience, taking on an interim leadership or management role for a sizable project with strategic importance, contributing to her growth and development as a quality healthcare professional.

“Working in hospital operations is my career goal, and I am so fortunate to have the resources, through the fellowship, to begin achieving this goal,” she added.
