November 2, 2017 – Brian Blight of Bear Creek has been promoted to Creative Director in the Office of College Marketing and Communications, Division of Enrollment Management, at King’s College. He previously served the college as art director, where he was responsible for developing and maintaining King’s graphic standards, creative design of publications and advertisements, including photography and video production.

In his new role, Blight will oversee these operations and expand the use of video across King’s promotional channels and social media platforms to more effectively engage King’s target audiences. He will also play a pivotal role in the creative design of King’s website and other online outlets to establish King’s brand across traditional and new media. In addition to design and production, Blight will work directly with the College’s staff designers to enhance their design skills and expand their technical knowledge of design software and related tools.

“With more than 18 years of experience as a designer at King’s, no one has a deeper understanding of the King’s brand and how to protect it and make it stronger than Brian,” said Corry Unis, vice president of enrollment management. “In his new role, Brian will be better able to help King’s adapt its brand to the changing trends in design and the new technologies that are driving those trends and make them so effective.”

Blight earned his bachelor’s degree in illustration from Columbus College of Art and Design. He produces weekly videos for his family’s YouTube channel, “Olivia’s Crafts,” which has more than 100,000 subscribers. He is the owner of Brian Blight Design, a design and consultancy firm that serves various industries across the country. His creative paintings have won 14 state conservation stamps competitions, representing Ohio, Oklahoma, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Nevada, Massachusetts, and Florida.
