Description:

  • To be the official spokesperson for and the official representative of the King’s College student body, to the College President, and the Administration.
  • To call and preside over all meetings of the Board.
  • To review student applications subject to majority approval from the General Board to the positions of: Director of External Affairs, Director of Internal Affairs, Director of Clubs and Organizations, Director of Student Life, and Director of Elections.
  • To receive reports from all Directors on the weeks where the General Board does not meet.
  • To set the agenda for meetings.
  • To assign members to complete other tasks that may arise.

Description:

  • To serve as President in the absence of the President.
  • To be an advisor to the President and to be consulted in Presidential decisions.
  • To record attendance at Board Meetings.
  • To meet/coordinate with Directors as listed.
  • To be a liaison to the Alumni Office and work to coordinate events with Class Vice Presidents to strengthen ties between alumni and students.
  • Work as part of the review board that determines if a student has violated the SGA attendance policy
  • To review student applications subject to majority approval from the General Board to the positions of: Director of External Affairs, Director of Internal Affairs, Director of Clubs and Organizations, Director of Student Life, and Director of Elections.

Description:

  • To keep an accurate written record of all SGA funds.
  • To issue all requisition forms and assist in problems concerning Class/Club/Organization funds and the Business Office.
  • To coordinate with the Accounting Association to audit all Classes, Clubs, and organizations. Every Class/Club/Organization must be audited at least once at a time established by the Chief Financial Officer in accordance with the Constitution.
  • To send out to all class/club/organization information pertaining to grant and loan procedures. The packet shall consist of the following: 1) a list of the eligibility criteria to receive a grant as per the SGA Constitution; 2) a grant request form; 3) a service project form; 4) post project financial report form; and 5) a memo containing deadlines for submission of forms.
  • To develop the annual budget proposal with all supporting documents – all receipts should be kept on file.
  • To work with the Director of Clubs and Organizations to collect and review all grant paperwork.
  • To review student applications subject to majority approval from the General Board to the positions of: Director of External Affairs, Director of Internal Affairs, Director of Clubs and Organizations, Director of Student Life, and Director of Elections.

Description:

  • To work with the Executive President to compile the SGA agenda and distribute all minutes from the General Board meetings.
  • To keep minutes of Executive Board meetings.
  • Notify the appropriate parties of the Executive Board meetings and General Board meetings.
  • File all minutes of Class meetings.
  • Receive a typed report from the Directors on the weeks when the General Board does not meet.
  • To review student applications subject to majority approval from the General Board to the positions of: Director of External Affairs, Director of Internal Affairs, Director of Clubs and Organizations, Director of Student Life, and Director of Elections.

Description:

  • Work with Executive Secretary to relay information to Administration and IITS.
  • Work with IITS to establish and maintain a functional website that is updated on a regular basis.
  • To work directly with the IITS liaison to accomplish relevant tasks including but not limited to: creation and update of SGA online forms that can be sent to a database.
  • Assist in the filing of information.
  • Assist with the implementation and upkeep of an online database for Club, Class, and Organization information.
  • To review student applications subject to majority approval from the General Board to the positions of: Director of External Affairs, Director of Internal Affairs, Director of Clubs and Organizations, Director of Student Life, and Director of Elections.

Powers of Executive Board

  • The Executive Board shall have the authority to revise any provisions of this Constitution as the need arises with the approval of the Executive Board advisors.
  • The Executive Board will distribute applications following Executive Board Elections in the Spring for students wishing to apply for Director positions. The Executive Board has the power to review these applications and appoint students to the five (5) Director positions.
  • The Executive Board shall have the power to appoint Liaison positions.
  • The Executive Board shall have the power to be in charge of General Board meetings.
  • The Executive Board and its advisors shall have the power to interpret the SGA Constitution.
  • Establish a time for the audit of all Classes, Clubs, and Organizations for fiscally sound operations. The date and time of the audit will be included in the grant information packet each semester.
  • The Executive Board, with the approval of the Chief Financial Officer, will submit a proposed budget with line items for the following school year.
  • The Executive Board has the power to spend the money allotted to Student Government.
  • The Executive Board must request a majority approval by the General Board for expenditures exceeding $500.
