Organized activities help students become familiar with campus life and the surrounding community as well as make new friends. Residence Hallsare available to all first-year students and we encourage you to live on campus. King's is located in the Northeast, where our weather goes through all four seasons.

U.S. Airways, Delta Connection, United Express, and Continental Airlines are used most frequently by our international student population. If you need someone to pick you up at the airport, please provide us with the date, time of arrival of airline, and flight number prior to your arrival, and we will arrange for an airport taxi or driver to meet you. In all cases, it is necessary that you inform us in advance of all of the details of your arrival so that we may properly greet and welcome you to King's College. Weather
Pennsylvania experiences all four seasons, including fall, winter, spring, and summer.
Plan to either bring or purchase warm clothing (including a heavy coat and insulated boots) for our winter season (November to March). A normal winter in Pennsylvania will consist of several inches of snow, and a temperature that can range from -32 (0¡ F) degrees celsius to 4 degrees celsius (40¡F). Our normal fall and spring seasons will require lighter attire, and include a light jacket or sweater. Temperature ranges from 10 degrees celsius (50° F) to 27 degrees celsius (80° F). If you plan to stay from May through August, the weather is always hot and humid with temperature ranges of 21 degrees celsius (70° F) to 38 degrees celsius (100° F). You should bring lightweight clothing for this season.

Residence Halls
Residence halls close during all semester breaks, vacation periods, and other holidays as designated by the institution. All residence hall students are required to vacate the halls during those time periods. The housing contract does not provide room and board during semester breaks recesses or official university holidays.

Students may request permission to remain in the residence halls by submitting a semester break housing form at least two weeks in advance to the Office of Residence Life. Students may be required to move into another residence hall or residence hall room during break/vacation periods. Meal plans are not in effect during break periods and students will need to make their own arrangements for meals. Residence life staff are not on duty in the halls during break periods. Opposite gender visitation is not permitted during this time.

Shopping
King's is within walking distance of major department and pharmaceutical (apothecary, medicine) shops, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment. We are just minutes away from several shopping malls.

Many international students and their families will purchase most of their required necessities upon arrival in the United States. The cost of living in Northeastern Pennsylvania is quite low and prices are usually reasonable.
