Meet the Team
Margaret Kowalsky (email@example.com, 570-208-5986) is the Director of the Office of Study Abroad, where she works with faculty, staff, and students to create global learning opportunities on and off campus. Margaret brings 20+ years of experience in higher education to her position. Prior to King’s, she worked for both Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and its flagship partner Villanova University to build CRS's partnerships with US higher education. She spent four years at the Harvard Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research advancing dialogue and policy in multilateral contexts. Awareness of the most vulnerable, activism, and education on transnational themes like migration, climate change, hunger and trafficking have long been themes in Margaret's work. Margaret is certified in the Forum on Education Abroad's Standards of Good Practice and has a special interest in curriculum design and assessment around intercultural learning. She holds degrees from Wellesley College and Harvard Divinity School.
Renata Evan (firstname.lastname@example.org, 570-208-5987) is the Coordinator of Faculty-Led Study Abroad Programs. Renata advises students in the program selection and applicaton process and prepares students for international travel. Renata works with faculty to plan high quality, affordable programs. To date, she has helped over 200 King’s students travel to 20 different countries on 4 continents in 18 programs. Renata’s nearly 20 years in higher education include being a research assistant at Copernicus University, study abroad at Binghamton University, institutional research at Wilkes University, and coordinating and leading study abroad programs at King’s College. At King’s, Renata has taught courses in international business and Polish culture. Renata holds a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Binghamton University and dual master’s degrees in Sociology and Psychology of Economics from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland. Renata enjoys sharing her international experience with students, helping them as they embark on their own global adventures.
