Lisa Zimmerman graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry from Misericordia University in 2005. She completed a master's degree in physician assistant studies at Marywood University in 2007. Her clinical backgrounds include pediatrics, family medicine, and emergency medicine. Mrs. Zimmerman has practiced in gastroenterology and hepatology since 2010, with a clinical focus on management of viral hepatitis and liver cirrhosis. She remains active in the GI and hepatology community as a member of the advanced practice provider committee of the American College of Gastroenterology and has a special interest in education of health care providers new to the specialty. She is also a member of the AASLD, AAPA, GHAPP, and PAEA.
Mrs. Zimmerman joined the King's PA faculty in 2022 as a clinical coordinator. She advises and mentors professional phase students, recruits and maintains relationships with clinical rotation sites, and assists in clinical curriculum review and development. She teaches pre-professional students critical thinking skills with course goals of promoting scientific thinking in conjunction with personal resiliency.
Outside her professional life, Mrs. Zimmerman enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She enjoys indoor cycling, traveling, delicious food, and reading.
