The focus of Dr. Moore's research and teaching spans the juncture between the disciplines of biology, psychology, and sociology. He maintains a research affiliation with the Electrophysiological Neuroscience Laboratory of Kent (ENLoK) and has previously taught at Purdue University Northwest, Lakeland University, and the University of Georgia. In general, he investigates how individual self and identity structures influence leadership and deviant behavior, especially interpersonal violence and self-destructive behaviors (e.g., suicide), with a recent emphasis on how immersive virtual reality might be used to train law enforcement officers to respond to potentially violent social situations. Dr. Moore is also a former U.S. Marine Corps military police/criminal investigator. Originally from Wisconsin (Go Packers!), he enjoys spending his free time outdoors - backpacking, hunting, and fishing year-round.
