Local Artist Katie Senunas hosts exhibition in the Widmann Gallery at King’s College

Feb. 10, 2017 - Local artist Katie Senunas, a 2014 graduate of King’s College, will display a variety of wildlife and landscape photos taken in Yellowstone National Park and Pennsylvania state parks during a free public exhibition, titled “Through My Eyes,” from Monday, Feb. 27, through Friday, March 24, in the Widmann Gallery at King’s.

King’s Theatre Department to enchant audiences with Shakespeare’s magical tale ‘The Tempest’

Feb. 10, 2017 - The King’s College Theatre Department will present William Shakespeare’s supernatural tale of shipwreck and salvation “The Tempest” at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22-25 and 2 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the George P. Maffei II Theatre. High school matinee performances are available upon request. King’s has offered theatre productions for local audiences since 1950.

King’s professor Dr. Frank Varriale discovers new insights on chewing behavior of dinosaurs

Feb. 10, 2017 - Paleontologist Dr. Frank Varriale, assistant professor of biology at King’s College, was awarded the Alfred Romer Award from the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology for his research that resulted in a key discovery about the evolution of chewing in horned dinosaurs (ceratopsians).

Theologian Father Thomas Stegman, S.J, to deliver annual Moreau Lecture at King’s

Feb. 8, 2017 - Jesuit Father Thomas D. Stegman, S.J., Dean of the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, and “Professor Ordinarius” of New Testament, will discuss Saint Paul’s teachings on reconciliation, authentic freedom and the “new creation” during two free public lectures titled “The Relevance of St. Paul’s ‘Life in the Spirit’ for Today,” at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the Burke Auditorium at King’s College. 

Pittston Resident Receives Spirit of Holy Cross Award

Feb. 1, 2017 - Anne Noone, a Pittston resident has served in various positions at King’s College since 1966, was recently selected to receive the Spirit of Holy Cross Award, an annual recognition by the United States Province of Priests and Brothers of the critical importance lay people play in living out the vision and mission of Holy Cross founder Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C., to make God known, loved and served in education, parish and mission settings.
