"COLORED PENCIL PLUS" EXHIBITION
ON DISPLAY AT KING'S COLLEGE
September 7, 2005 –Come to the King’s College
Widmann Gallery to see what some talented artists can do with only a sheet of
paper and a few colored pencils. The original works of over 24 members of the
Wilkes-Barre chapter of The Colored Pencil Society of America will be on display
in “Colored Pencil Plus.” The exhibition is in the Widmann Gallery of the
Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center at King’s College through Oct. 3.
A reception to meet the artists will be held in the Widmann Gallery on Friday,
Sept. 9, from 6-8 p.m. Members of the CPSA Wilkes-Barre chapter will be on hand
to answer questions; at 7 p.m. will hold a gallery talk. The public is invited.
The Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) is an active group of artists
enthusiastic about informing the public about their organization and their art.
A non-profit organization, founded in 1990, CPSA represents colored pencil
artists in 16 countries and consists of more than 1,600 members. The
Wilkes-Barre District Chapter is one of only 20 active chapters throughout the
United States.
The exhibition is free and open to the public through Oct. 3. Gallery hours:
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday by appointment. The
Gallery is closed on national holidays and during scheduled breaks when the
College is closed. Unless noted otherwise, all exhibitions and
