BIOCHEMIST PAUL J. LAWRENCE WILL SPEAK
AT KING'S
COLLEGE SUMMER COMMENCEMENT
August 16, 2005–More than 60graduates will
receive their degrees at the King’s College Summer Commencement ceremony at
St. Mary’s Church, 134 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, on Saturday,
August 20 at 10 a.m.
Dr. Paul J. Lawrence , a 1962 graduate of King’s, is the Commencement
speaker. Dr. Lawrence is a distinguished biochemist, researcher, business
leader, consultant and entrepreneur. Founder and former president, CEO, and
chairman of Litmus Concepts, Inc., he developed new improved methods of
biomedical testing; Dr. Lawrence is the holder of 27 U.S. patents. He is
currently president, CEO and chairman of Lawrence Assay, Inc. and of
NutriCheck, Inc. – two firms he founded in 2000.
Receiving an honorary degree at the Commencement ceremony along with Dr.
Lawrence is Mrs. Patricia Brooks, wife of the late and celebrated coach of the
1980 gold medal U.S. Olympic hockey team, Herb Brooks. Mrs. Brooks is a
community volunteer and women’s advocate in her home city of St. Paul,
Minn.
