ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL SPANISH CONTEST
WINNERS HONORED AT KING'S COLLEGE
2 Salisbury Middle School students receive Spanish awards
July 15, 2005– The National Spanish
Examinations, given locally by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the
American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, concluded with 42
chapter winners from a pool of 715 middle and high school students who competed
from regional public and private schools.
Salisbury Middle School students Neil Clark and John Gardus were Chapter winners
for distinguishing themselves through regular classwork or experience in Spanish
outside the classroom. Clark and Gardus received trophies and certificates for
their accomplishment.
King’s College hosted an authentic Spanish dinner for area Northeastern
Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Spanish Examinations winners and their
families at the College’s Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center. Alex Byczkowski,
assistant professor of Foreign Languages and Literature at King’s College, is
director of the program.
King’s College is a Catholic College sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross
