M&T BANK CONTRIBUTES $50,000
TO KING'S
COLLEGE FOR CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS
July 28, 2005 – The Major Gifts Program of
King’s College received a generous donation from M&T Bank. On behalf of
the college, King’s President Rev. Thomas J. O’Hara, C.S.C., accepted the
check for $50,000 from Eugene J. Walsh, vice president of Institutional and
Government Banking for M&T Bank, and Terrence W. Casey, Vice President and
Regional Manager for M&T Investment Group. The money will used for
campus improvements.
Of the gift, Father O’Hara said, ”M&T Bank has been a good corporate
neighbor not only to King’s but to all the Wyoming Valley. Their generous gift
will enable King’s to make the improvements in our institution that will
benefit our students, the King’s College community, and the local community as
well. We thank the leadership of M&T Bank for their generosity, foresight
and faith in our area.”
Terrence W. Casey, vice president and regional manager for M&T Investment
Group., M&T Bank, referring to the gift to King’s and the Bank’s philanthropic
and community efforts, said, “The campus improvements at Kings College have
had a positive impact on the surrounding downtown neighborhood. Kings has become
an increasingly important institution in the city of Wilkes-Barre, and M&T
Bank is proud to participate in the college's major gifts program in a
meaningful way.”
King's College is a Catholic college sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross.
