KING'S COLLEGE STUDENTS TRAVEL ABROAD 

June 6, 2005– During the summer semester, five King's College students will study and intern for academic credit far from home; three will travel abroad to further their studies, and two will take part in internships. The King's College Study Abroad Program, under the direction of Mollie Farmer, has forged strong relationships with affiliated study-abroad institutions around the world to give King's students useful and valuable educational and internship opportunities through travel and study in other countries.

The following King’s College students are studying and working abroad this summer:

Elena DiGrado, from New Orleans, La., is a sophomore majoring in history and political science. She is studying in Paris, France, through the Institute for the International Education of Students.

Angelina Scarano, from Mountaintop, Pa., is a junior majoring in international business. She is participating in the King's College-John Cabot University Program in Rome, Italy.

Elizabeth Stella, from Exeter, Pa., is a junior majoring in international business and Spanish. She is participating in the King's College-John Cabot University Program in Rome, Italy. Stella was awarded a full-tuition William G. McGowan Scholarship for the 2005-06 academic year.

Jamey Hourigan, from Beaver Meadows, Pa., is a junior majoring in biology, psychology, and neuroscience. He is studying and participating in an internship in Sydney, Australia, through Arcadia University's Center for Education Abroad.

Ashley Yanchik, from Dallas, Pa., is a sophomore majoring in biology. She is studying and participating in an internship in Sydney, Australia, through Arcadia University's Center for Education Abroad.

During Reunion Weekend, King’s College will also recognize Patrick J. O’Connor, Philadelphia, with the Outstanding Professional Achievement Award; Elmer ‘Tippy’ Kozick, Wilkes-Barre, and Lucy Wujcik Baloga, Plymouth, with the Robert J. Ell Award for Service to Alma Mater; and J.J. Murphy, Wilkes-Barre, with the Leo Award.
