GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT

SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT KING'S COLLEGE

May 24, 2005–Kathie Daskalakes and Bill Runner, co-chairpersons of the annual Rev. Paul Farber, C.S.C., Memorial Golf Tournament announce that the 21st anniversary tournament will be held Friday, June 10, at Mill Race Golf and Camping Resort in Benton. The shotgun start is at 11 a.m.

A 2005 BMW lease, made available by Wyoming Valley Motors, will be awarded to the first golfer shooting a hole-in-one on the 18th hole on the day of the tournament.

The event features a captain and crew format. A reception followed by a banquet and awards ceremony will conclude the day’s events.

Father Paul Farber, C.S.C., a Wilkes-Barre native, was director of annual giving programs at King’s when he passed away while on missionary work in Peru. In 1996 the tournament’s name was changed to honor his memory. The event provides scholarship money to high financial need King’s students.

Cost is $150 per golfer. Hole and major sponsorships are available. For information concerning the tournament or to make reservations, contact Milly Jones, King’s College Office of Institutional Advancement, at 208-5880.
