KING'S FAMILY BUSINESS FORUM HOSTS AREA MAYORS

April 1, 2005 King’s College Family Business Forum recently hosted its annual Government Affairs program, The Mayors' Forum. The program featured Thomas Leighton, mayor of Wilkes-Barre; Louis Barletta, mayor of Hazleton; and Christopher Doherty, mayor of Scranton.

The Mayors' Forum began with a networking breakfast, and during a question and answer session, the mayors elaborated on such issues as business growth, regionalism, and the important role family businesses play in a healthy economy.

The event was presented by the Family Business Forum, a learning and networking group composed of family businesses, program sponsors, and the students and faculty of King’s College under the direction of Patrice Persico of the William G. McGowan School of Business. It is dedicated to enhancing the role of the family business community in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Family Business Forum Partners are King's College; Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business & Industry; NE PA Industrial Resource Center NEPIRC; Parente Randolph, PC; PNC Bank, NA; and Rosenn, Jenkins & Greenwald, L.L.P.
