KING'S, SPORTS MEDICINE DEPARTMENT

RACES FOR SCHOLARSHIP FUND

March 2, 2005 Runners and walkers will join members of the King’s College Sports Medicine department at Kirby Park in Kingston for the first Northeast Pennsylvania Athletic Training 5K Run/1 Mile Walk. The race is part of National Athletic Training Month and is on Sunday, March 13, at 11 a.m.

The Northeast Pennsylvania Athletic Training 5K Run/ 1 Mile Walk will benefit the Northeastern Pennsylvania Athletic Training Scholarship fund, and the race's real winner will be the athletic training education student from northeast Pennsylvnaia to win a scholarship. Those eligible for the award include students from King’s College, East Stroudsburg University, Marywood University, and Alvernia College.

An awards ceremony and presentations by King’s athletic training education students covering such topics as, “Common Running Pathologies” and “Nutritional Considerations in Runners” will follow the race. The program is in the Burke Auditorium of the William G. McGowan School of Business on North River Street at 1 p.m.
