FAMED RHEUMALOGIST DeHORATIUS, SPEAKS ON

"MANY FACES OF ARTHRITIS" AT KING'S

March 11, 2005 – On March 23 renowned rheumatologist Raphael DeHoratius, M.D., of Philadelphia’s Thomas Jefferson Medical College, will discuss “The Many Faces of Arthritis” at King’s College. Dr. De Horatius’ talk is sponsored by King’s, the Arthritis Foundation, and John Heinz Rehab. Held at 1 p.m. in the Sheehy Farmer Campus Center between North Main and North Franklin streets, the event is free and open to the public.

Arthritis affects millions of Americans, consigning them to a life of pain and limited mobility. The career of Dr. Raphael DeHoratius, has been devoted to studying, teaching about and treating rheumatoid diseases and their effects on sufferers. Currently professor of medicine and a director of the division of rheumatology at Thomas Jefferson University, Dr. DeHoratius previously was a program director of internal medicine and professor at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia.

He is the author of many books and articles, a number dealing with the results of his extensive and successful research in his field. A teacher, researcher, and administrator, he holds a number of impressive honors and awards for his work – most recently the Joseph Lee Hollander Award for the Outstanding Rheumatologist in Philadelphia.

The talk by Dr. DeHoratius is presented under the auspices of King’s College, the Arthritis Foundation and John Heinz Rehab.
