GROUP
SHOW AT KING'S COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS THE "POWER OF THREE"
September 30, 2005 – A trio of artists will
display their work in the “Power of Three” exhibition at the King’s
College Widmann Gallery from Oct. 7 – Nov. 4. Sandy Leonard, Judy Panek, and
Jim Rogowski work in oil, pastels, and watercolors.
Working together for many years, there is a similarity in their approach to
painting, yet each has a distinct style. The artists manipulate color to create
a naturalistic effect, and they find their subject matter in the world around
them. Their use of softened lines creates a relaxed style that goes beyond a
superficial glance.
Jim Rogowski received his formal training at College Misericordia, graduating
with a BA in art education. He has taught art at the college level, and is now
Director of Design for BMC Inc. in Scranton, Pa.
Judy Panek is a member of Cider Painters of America and the Wyoming Valley Art
League. Two of her works were exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution in
Washington, D.C.
Sandy Leonard is secretary of the Cider Painters of America, a member of the
Wyoming Valley Art League, and has also had two of her works exhibited at the
Smithsonian Institution.
A reception to meet the artists will be held in the Widmann Gallery on Oct. 19,
from 12:30 – 2 p.m. and Oct. 21 from 6 – 8 p.m. The artists will be on hand
to answer questions, and on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. they will hold a gallery talk.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the
