King’s
College to offer
ethnic history and culture courses
October 18, 2005 - As part of its Ethnic
Communities Outreach, King’s College will present non-credit evening and
weekend courses about the ethnic history and cultural heritage of four ethnic
groups with a presence in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Guest speakers representing
these groups will share their knowledge, insights, and experiences.
“Community scholars are our neighbors and friends who learned about their
cultural heritage growing up, retained an interest, did more research and
exploration, and are ready to share it with others,” said Rev. Patrick
Sullivan, C.S.C., Ph. D., who is coordinator of the Ethnic Communities Outreach.
All courses are free and open to the public. Ethnic culture and history courses
are made possible through the sponsorship of the Ethnic Community Outreach (ECO)
at King’s College. ECO was launched in mid-2002 to explore, recognize and
celebrate the role of ethnic communities and their voluntary organizations in
Northeastern Pennsylvania. For more information, please contact Father Sullivan
at 208-5816.
