November 19, 2014 – Two Congregation of Holy Cross religious have accepted positions at King’s College. 

Rev. Eric Schimmel, C.S.C. has been appointed assistant coordinator of the McGowan Hispanic Outreach Program, where he will oversee the adult English as a Second Language program, coordinate the Pathways to Success middle school program, and assist the mentoring afterschool program at Dan Flood Elementary School. He will also be working part-time in Campus Ministry with various programs and sacramental ministry. 

Father Schimmel was previously the director of Andre House in Phoenix, Ariz., a soup kitchen and men and women’s homeless shelter. He has taught secondary school in Uganda, and served as an associate pastor at several parishes, including St. John Vianney Parish in Goodyear, Ariz., St. Adalbert & St. Casimir parishes in South Bend, Ind., and Sacred Heart Parish in Colorado Springs, Colo. He earned a bachelor’s degree and Master of Divinity at the University of Notre Dame.

Rev. Stephen Chase Pepper, C.S.C., has been appointed an associate campus minister at King’s College, where he will be responsible for the training and formation of liturgical ministers, the promotion of the New Evangelization, and the development of the college’s retreat and pilgrimage programs.  He will also serve as a Resident Counselor in the residence hall, teach part-time in the Theology department, and act as an advisor for the Freshman Council of Student Government.

Before coming to King’s, Deacon Pepper was a seminarian for the Congregation of Holy Cross in South Bend, Ind. He has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Catholic Studies from Seton Hall University and a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame.
