August 29, 2012 – Ten new full-time faculty members have joined King’s College for the 2012-13 academic year.

Dr. Fevzi Akinci is professor of health care administration. He previously was vice president for academic affairs and professor and dean of the faculty of Economics Administrative Sciences at Zirve University in Gaziantep, Turkey. He earned a doctorate and master’s degree from St. Louis University and a bachelor’s degree at HacettepeUniversity in Ankara, Turkey.

Adam Balcziunas is an electronic resources/systems librarian with the rank of assistant technicalprofessor. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and master’s degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Arcadia University, where he was also the serials librarian at the Bette E. Landman Library.

Dr. Robert Butler is an assistant professor of psychology. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University-Idaho and a master’s degree and doctorate from Auburn University and had a position at the University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center before coming to King’s.

Dr. Chad Hogg, assistant professor of computer science, was a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science at Ursinus College. Heearned a master’s degree and doctorate at Lehigh University, and a bachelor’s degree from Ursinus College.

Dr. Janine Janoski is an assistant professor of mathematics. She previously served as a teacher of record in the Department of Mathematics at Clemson University, where she earned her master’s and doctorate degrees. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware.

Dr. Karen McCready, assistant professor of mathematics, previously was an instructor and teaching assistant at Lehigh University, where she earned her master’s and doctorate degrees. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of New Jersey.

Dr. Bernard Prusak is an associate professor of philosophy and director of the McGowan Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility. He was previously a Lawrence C. Gallen Fellow in the Humanities at Villanova University. He earned a doctorate from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree from Williams College.

Dr. Frank Varriale, assistant professor of biology, previously served as an instructor at RowanUniversity. He earned a doctorate from Johns Hopkins University of Medicine, a master’s degree from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, and a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York at Oswego.

Dr. Scott Weiland, assistant professor of mass communications, previously served as Senior Vice President, Commercial Division, of Semian Real Estate Group. A former adjunct professor and graduate of King’s, he earned a master’s degree from Kutztown University and doctorate from Marywood University.

Dr. Sunny Minelli Weiland, assistant professor of education, previously was a curriculum specialist and director of Curriculum & Instruction for Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit 19. She holds a master’s degree and doctorate from Marywood University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton.
