April 12, 2012 – King’s College will host the 28th Annual Rev. Paul Farber, C.S.C. Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, June 8, at Mill Race Golf and Camping Resort in Benton. All proceeds benefit the College’s Farber Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Kirk Borchert, a 1991 graduate of King’s, is the returning chair of the Farber Tournament Committee. He is currently a Systems Security Consultant for MetLife. In addition, he is a member of King’s Executive Committee of the Century Club and 2005 Graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre. He resides in the Back Mountain with his wife, Lisa, daughter, Rhiannon, and son, A.J.
The cost per golfer is $150 and includes greens fees, carts, refreshments, and a post-tournament barbecue and awards ceremony. The tournament will begin at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start and will have a captain and crew format. Hole sponsorships are $100; Flag sponsorships cost $250; and major sponsorships begin at $500.
Five golfers who are closest to the pin on the par-three holes will be given an opportunity to participate in a “Million Dollar Hole in One Shootout.” The Farber Tournament is the only local tournament to offer this feature.
