August 26, 2011 – Brian Cook of Exeter joined King’s College as a college counselor in the Counseling Center. He will provide individual and group counseling of students, consult with faculty and staff on student-related issues, provideon-call services and crisis intervention to students, and assist in the development of Counseling Center outreach programs in specialized areas.
A 2004 King’s graduate, Cook gained experience in private practice counseling, as an instructor at Luzerne County Community College, and as a Senior Inpatient Therapist at First Hospital Wyoming Valley, Kingston.
His professional areas of interest include individual and group therapy, substance abuse and addiction, mood disorders, and crisis management.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from King’s, Cook earned a master’s degree in community counseling at the University of Scranton. His credentials include licensure in the State of Pennsylvania as a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as certification as a National Certified Counselor.
