September 12, 2011 – Elizabeth Butler of Shenandoah has been named graphic designer, writer and editor in the Office of College Marketing and Advertising at King’s College. She will beprimarily responsible for producing publications for various offices on campus, conceptualizing and designing promotional pieces, and writing and editing content. She recently completed work on the inauguration package for King's new president, Rev. John Ryan, C.S.C.
Butler graduated from King’s in May majoring in mass communications with a minor in marketing.
As a student, she presented a research paper on Facebook and privacy at the Undergraduate Scholars Conference held in conjunction with the 102nd Eastern Communication Association Convention. The research paper, titled “Privacy Setting Awareness on Facebook and Its Effect on User-Posted Content,” was rated as a top-four paper from more than 125 submitted for consideration.
A recipient of the Basil Moreau Scholarship. Butler was president of the mass communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta. She was a member of the foreign language honor society, Alpha Mu Gamma, and a consistent Dean’s List student.
Butler completed internships with The City of Wilkes-Barre, Mrs. T’s Pierogies, and King’s Office of Marketing & Advertising.
She is the daughter of John and Susan Butler.
