King's College Welcomes Author Amy Hempel
October 15, 2007- Author Amy Hempel will read fiction, answer audience questions, and sign books on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m. in the Burke Auditorium, located in McGowan School of Business, on North River Street .
Hempel is the author of four collections of short stories, including her most recent “The Dog of the Marriage.” Her work has been printed in such publications as “Harper's” and “Vanity Fair.” She has won several prestigious literary awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Hobson Award. Hempel is currently teaching in Bennington College 's Master's of Fine Arts program.
Hampel will read excerpts from her work, and answer questions from the audience. Following the event she will be signing books.
