Local artists display unique style of art in King's Widmann Gallery, Oct. 1- Nov. 2
September 18, 2007 – Artists from the Eastern Pennsylvania Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation will present a number of original works in the medium Anthrascapes AMD Art during an exhibition held in the Widmann Galley at King's College from Oct. 1- Nov. 2.
To create a spectrum of colors in this unique style of art, artists work in their own medium, including chalk, paint, dye, or oils, and combine it with iron oxide harvested from anthracite coal.
Artists will discuss the craft during gallery talks on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 12:30-2 p.m. and on Monday, Oct. 19, from 6-8 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours: Mon. through Fri., 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Sat. and Sun., as arranged. The Widmann Gallery is located in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center , between North Franklin and North Main streets.
