King's Family Business Forum announces program schedule
August 29, 2007 – From fueling your life with positive energy and entrepreneurship to competition and transforming a century old family business, the Family Business Forum at King's College will offer a variety of educational seminars during the 2007-08 academic year to people involved in local and regional family businesses.
The Family Business Forum is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
· Author Jon Gordon will present “The Energy Bus: 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work and Team with Positive Energy” on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 8 a.m.
· Doug Hall, CEO of Eureka Ranch Institute, an “invention and research think tank,” will be the keynote speaker at a members only presentation on Dec. 3. The event is sponsored by the Northeast Industrial Resource Center.
· John Ward, renowned family business expert and clinical professor at Kellogg School of Management, will speak on “Perpetuating the Family Business: Lessons Learned from Successful Long Lasting Families in Business” on Feb. 13, from 5:30- 8:30 p.m.
· Former racecar driver and current president of Chelsea Milling Company Howdy Holmes will discuss entrepreneurship, competition, and the transformation of his century old family business from 5:30- 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.
· Drew Mendoza, managing principal of The Family Business Consulting Group, will host a presentation entitled, “Siblings, Cousins, and Inactive Shareholders – Tying Them All Together,” on Tuesday, June 3.
All events will be held at King's College. Program information is subject to change. The Family Business Forum's mission is to offer educational and unique networking opportunities to local and regional family businesses.
