King’s biology grad David Prutzman of Hanover Twp. presents research paper

June 11, 2009 – David Prutzman of Hanover Twp. recently presented his poster abstract, titled “A Mark-capture Study of Larval Salamander Density in Streams With and Without Fish” at the 85th annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Academy of Science held in Camp Hill.
 
Prutzman graduated magna cum laude from King’s College in May with a bachelor of science degree in biology. In the fall, he will attend the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program.
 
As a student, Prutzman has participated in a number of volunteer assignments, including preparing and serving food at St. Vincent de Paul’s Kitchen, cleaning at the Kirby Family House, assisting veterans at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, and participating in the Diabetes Walk for the American Diabetes Association and “Relay for Life” for the American Cancer Society.
 
He is a member of the College’s Dean’s List and achieved Level 1 status as a peer-tutor by the College Reading and Learning Association. Tutors are selected through an interview process and a recommendation from their instructors.
 
He has worked for Wyoming Valley Health Care System as a nursing assistant in the operating room since June 2007.
 
He is the son of Wilbur R. and Mary T. Prutzman of Montgomery, New York.
