March 16, 2009 - Neil Weinberg, executive editor of Forbes magazine, will deliver the McGowan Center for Ethics and Public Life lectures at King’s College on Thursday, March 26. Weinberg will address “Corporate Crime” at 3:30 p.m. and “Paying for Failure” at 7:30 p.m. Both lectures are open to the public free of charge and will occur in Burke Auditorium of the McGowan School of Business, located at the corner of N. River and W. Union streets. At “Forbes,” Weinberg is in charge of personal finance coverage for both the magazine and its website Forbes.com. He also oversees investigative reporting at the magazine. He was named to his current position in May 2008. Prior to becoming editor, Weinberg was an investigative reporter for the magazine. His stories focused on controversial practices in business and politics, including corporate, mutual fund and pension scandals, executive pay excesses, the pending collapse of private equity and hedge funds and the dark side of whistle blowing. Weinberg co-wrote the book “Stolen Without a Gun: Confessions from Inside History’s Biggest Accounting Fraud – The Collapse of MCI WorldCom.” The book, co-written by convicted white collar felon Walter Pavlo, Jr., is currently being used by universities to teach business ethics, accounting and other related subjects. Weinberg is a frequent commentator on CNBC, Fox News and other networks. He earned an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management.
